Hi! I'm Sharon (Sha) Hanawalt. I was born in Missouri and raised in St. Charles Missouri, which is just outside of St. Louis. I graduated in 1979 from Francis Howell High School in Weldon Springs Missouri. I also attended Lewis & Clark Technical School in St. Charles Missouri, and graduated from there in 1978.
I enjoy traveling, mostly to the mountains and ocean. While near the ocean, I enjoy deep sea fishing and just relaxing on the beach. There's something about the sound of the ocean, that is just so soothing and relaxing. :-) Oh, and Palm Tree's are nice also, I think they are the most beautiful Tree that Heavenly Father gave us! I love hurricanes! While on our honeymoon we were in PC Beach Florida late September 1998 for hurricane George! It was quite exciting getting to see a hurricane up close! Most of the Caribbean Islands, and the Key's in Florida took the brunt of the hurricane, however it was still so awesome to see the hurricane up close! We had to stay an extra day on our honeymoon, due to the bridge being closed because of the hurricane, but that sure didn't hurt our feelings any! After just missing hurricane Opal a couple years back by just 4 days, it was wonderful to finally see a hurricane! Family time is extremely important to me as well, although most of my family still resides in Missouri, I try to visit them often, and cherish each moment I get to spend with them!
I have a wonderful son Billy. He's filled my life with lots of love and laughter! I'm very proud of the handsome young man he has become.
In September late 1990's I was married my best friend, Larry Hanawalt! :-) He's a wonderful Husband, Father, and Grandpa! He's the answer to my many prayer's, I am the luckiest person in the world to have someone as special as Larry to share my life with! I'm thankful for him each and every day! My life has truly been blessed so greatly! I'm equally blessed for the wonderful family I now share with Larry, most of which lives in California! I now also have a beautiful Granddaughter Laycie, who lives in Idaho with her Grandma & Grandpa Premoe. :-)
Our families here on earth are wonderful and glorious blessings from our Heavenly Father! Thru my faith, I know our family will be together for eternity, which helps to cope with the loss of family member's who have departed this earth. I love my family very much!
Ok, sports,,you bet! I enjoy various sports of course I'm very into the Olympics, and also Paralympics I worked as a volunteer for the 1996 Olympics here in Atlanta, that was just a blast! I really enjoyed my time, I provided tech support for the Olympic Family Hotel, which hosted the dignitaries from all over the world! That was so awesome! Most everyone was great at the hotel, and during the bombing at Olympic Park, I soon learned the safest place for me to be was back at the hotel for the evening! I was very blessed to have left Olympic Park just minutes before the bomb went off, as I was at the site in the park that took the largest brunt of the bomb. The Holy Spirit sure protected me that evening! I must admit, I enjoy the winter Olympics and Paralympics much better than the summer games. I also enjoy Football, since being with Larry I have become quite a St. Louis Rams fan (course now that they are in my old home state don't hurt either, but I'm still a Kansas City Chiefs fan too!) Hockey, is there any other team to root for other than the St. Louis Blues?? In hockey I will never root for any other team other than the Blues, football I'll stay true to the Missouri teams, and baseball, no one else but the Cards for this "Show Me" girl! You guessed it, baseball is the St. Louis Cardinals!! Win or Loose I'm a TRUE fan! I don't switch teams or refuse to root for my favorite teams just because they are having a bad season! I despise "fair weather" fans!! Ya all know who ya are!
I was recently diagnosed with FMS (Fibromyalgia), CFIDS (Chronic Fatigue Dysfunctional Syndrome), however now after further testing, my diagnosis has since changed to MS (Multiple Sclerosis). Click Sha's MS page link below to learn of my story with MS and my journey with this illness. MS & FMS have similar symptoms and is easily to misdiagnose. This illness is very debilitating for me on many day's, but having the loving support of my wonderful husband, other family members and also of very dear friends helps greatly!
